The title of this concentration is called Punshops. I started this concentration because I had hit and somewhat am still stuck in this rough spot in life so I needed something to do that distracted me from a series of bad events that have been going on around me. I had started to think of things that I still enjoyed in life and parts of my old self I still had left, and after a while of thinking to my self I thought of my sense of childish humor I managed to hold onto. Then my immediate thought for humor was puns. I find puns and word play fascinating because for some puns you need common sense, and other puns you need to have a higher level of thought processing. So the premise of this whole thing is to bring joy to others and myself while they face hard times to give them a small breather in there day to distract them from that paper they are dreading over, family issues, relationships, and arguments.
This Is Dande-Lions my first of this concentration called Punshops. I find this piece to be a successful artwork because it brings two things together that have very little in comparison except word play with the names. The inspiration behind Dande-Lions is my weird fascination with puns and my sense of humor. In my spare time I think about funny puns to lighten my mood.
Axe-olotl is by far my favorite art piece from this concentration because axolotls are by far one of the cutest animals on the face of this earth. For this art work I had a lot of fun making it because I had to come up with a pun for it and that is Axe-olotl. Basically it is a lumberjack axolotl with an axe in his hand looking at trees to cut down.
This artwork is called Gir-raft this is probably the least successful one of the quarter. Even though it was probably one of the more creative puns I have told in a long time.. The inspiration from this one was from when I was swimming one day and my aunt asked me "Do you know what the biggest swimming animal in Africa? A Gir-raft."
Out of all the ones I laughed at the most stupidly it was this one. I found it more than hilarious because monkeys are funny on there own, and making mon-keys pure comedy gold. I would say my favorite part of this is making the second monkey's nose into the actual key.
